Accessibility

How this site is built to work for everyone, and how to report a problem.

A site everyone can use

Yuba HVAC Pros wants everyone to be able to find help with their heating or cooling on this site, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification, or voice control. The aim is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

How the site is built

Each page is checked against those guidelines as it’s built. Here’s what that covers today.

Buttons that take you to the request form scroll there without animation if your device is set to reduce motion, and move your focus to the first field.

The map of the towns covered has a text label for screen readers, and every town on it is also listed as a plain link beside or below the map, so you never need the map to find your town’s page.

Built in

  • Colour contrast checked to WCAG AA
  • Everything works with a keyboard
  • A visible focus ring on every control
  • Text descriptions on meaningful photos
  • Labelled form fields, errors in words
  • Pages reflow for small screens and big text

Found a problem? Report it

If something on the site is hard to use, or you need information in another way, please report it.

Use the contact page and say which page and what happened. The problem gets looked at, and you can ask for the information you need in another way in the meantime.
